What the MPs are talking about

Health and Black Books

The MPs are talking to people with a learning disability about keeping healthy and removing barriers to accessing good healthcare.

People with a learning disability die 20 years younger than people without a learning disability. This is because there are lots of barriers to getting good healthcare.

The MPs will be talking to people about tools they can use to keep track of their health and ask for better healthcare.

One of those tools is called a Black book. It’s a personal health profile to help people keep track of their health.

If anyone would like a black book you can phone Nurse Liz McGrath at the Woolwich centre on 0208 921 4860 and ask to be sent a black book.
